What makes Snake River Barkery treats different?

Our dog treats are handcrafted in small batches using human quality ingredients — no fillers, no artificial preservatives, and no mystery additives. Every biscuit is mixed, rolled, and baked fresh in our Nampa, Idaho kitchen to ensure the highest quality for your pup.

Are your dog treats made with human‑grade ingredients?

Yes. We use real, recognizable, human quality ingredients you’d find in your own kitchen. If we wouldn’t eat it, we won’t feed it to your dog.  

Why don't you use the term "human-grade" on the packaging?

While we fulfill the majority of AAFCO's requirements to use that statement, there is one requirement we can't fulfil because we bake the treats in our own facility.  Believe us, we asked the ISDA and our local health district.  Our local Health District verbally told us that since our business does not serve human food, it's impossible for them to give us that kind of certification as a commercial kitchen.  That certification is only provided to kitchens that prepare and serve human food.  In order to use this term on our packaging, AAFCO requires "The manufacturing facility is licensed to produce human food by the appropriate authority (which varies by jurisdiction).  Such evidence may include, but is not limited to facility licenses or permits for operation of edible food manufacturing facilities or results of most recent inspections issued by local, county, or state public health authorities." (AAFCO 2020 Official Publication "Guidelines for "Human Grade" Claims, Section 3, paragraph C.)

Where are your treats made?

All Snake River Barkery treats are baked fresh in Nampa, Idaho. We’re proud to be a woman‑owned, Idaho‑based small business serving dog lovers across the Treasure Valley and beyond.

Do your treats contain preservatives?

No preservatives are used.  We use natural ingredients and proper baking methods to make sure treats stay as fresh as possible. Because they’re preservative‑free, they’re best enjoyed before the expiration date of 90 days.

How long do your treats stay fresh?

Most treats stay fresh for 90 days when stored in a cool, dry place.....if your canine-kids haven't eaten them all before then. For maximum freshness, keep them sealed in their original packaging or an airtight container.

Are your treats safe for dogs with allergies or sensitive stomachs?

Many of our recipes are gentle and simple, making them great for sensitive pups. We clearly list all ingredients on each product page so you can choose what’s best for your dog. All of the added spices and herbs to each flavor is specific to aid in digestion.  However, if your pup has specific allergies, always check the ingredient list before ordering....and let us know in the "notes" box at the time you order.  So, if we need to take special precautions for your furbaby's order, we can definitely do so. 

Do you offer grain‑free or limited‑ingredient treats?

Our treats are very limited ingredients; however, we do not have a grain-free option at this time. However, keep checking the shop as we grow, we may begin adding that option. 

Do you ship your treats?

Yes — we ship across the United States. All treats are baked fresh and packaged carefully to arrive in great condition.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are baked within 2 days of the order and typically shipping takes about 3–5 business days, depending on where it’s being shipped to. Frosted cookies take an extra day to fully dry before shipping.  During Christmas, processing times may be slightly longer, due to higher demand, and shipping carrier schedules.

Do you sell wholesale to boutiques or pet stores?

Yes! While our treats do not contain preservatives and we pride on baking orders fresh for our customers, we are willing to partner with select retailers in Idaho who value high‑quality, small‑batch dog treats. If you’re a pet boutique, interested in carrying Snake River Barkery products, reach out to us for wholesale details.  Currently, we're only licensed to sell to retail stores within the State of Idaho.  However, we are open to obtaining registrations in other states.

How should I store the treats?

Keep treats in a cool, dry place. An airtight container helps maintain freshness. 

Can humans eat your treats?

Technically, yes — as we have tasted them ourselves.  They’re made with human quality ingredients — but they’re baked for canine taste buds. Your dog will enjoy them a lot more than you will.
